Going With God

Between Sundays

God is on the move!  So much happens between Sundays that I want to highlight.  Last Sunday after church an amazing LCC student named Adam got baptized!  Our house churches met throughout the area on various nights bringing encouragement and spiritual growth.  Mindy taught Financial Peace Wednesday night at the building. The Cedars also met on Wednesday night for lively bible discussion.  The campus ministry hosted bible discussions at the International Center at MSU on Tuesday and Gannon at LCC on Thursday. There are so many personal bible studies happening on campus as well.  Friday night the Cross Culture ministry met in the Upper Room (back building) for worship, teaching and fellowship. Beth and I were in Chicago Thursday through Saturday getting leadership training with the Midwest Family of Churches.  Saturday morning we had our 2nd annual Easter Family Fest. DSCN000661 children attended. 6 children from the neighborhood are already signed up for VBS this summer. Saturday night was game night at MSU. Sunday morning before church even began we had Sunday school and participated in a meaningful discussion about Sarah and Abraham.  Church was a blast (many commented that they were very moved by the sermon) and the children/preteens/teens were filled up with God too.  After service we had a servant leadership meeting where we talked about having a well led church, our summer prayer and share challenge, and prayed for the many people who are seeking God in our fellowship right now.  Whew! That’s just one week, and I’m sure I missed more than a few things! Maybe the most encouraging thing about all of this is that we aren’t just busy for the sake of being busy. We’re actively pursuing our dream of impacting just 1% of the Lansing area with intentionality by having so many members step up and serve with the passions and talents that God has given them.  God’s church is beautiful.

The Week Ahead

It’s Passion Week and we’re going with God.  Our Good Friday service (Friday 7p-8p) is a always so encouraging.  School age children will join us for the hour of worship, the word, and communion.  Smaller children will be downstairs (thanks Kid’s Church volunteers!). Sunday is Easter – Christians, this is our big day!  Invite your friends and family to hear about how the resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything. You can share these images on Social Media:
